Vali (Váli)
God of Vengeance
Son of Odin, born specifically to avenge Baldr's death. Vali grew to full adulthood in a single day and killed Hod before the day was done. He will survive Ragnarok and inherit the new world.
Mythology
After Baldr's death, it was prophesied that vengeance could only be taken by a son of Odin who was not yet born. Odin fathered Vali with the giantess Rindr specifically for this purpose. Vali grew to adulthood in a single day and immediately killed Hod to avenge Baldr, fulfilling the requirement of blood vengeance. He represents the inexorable nature of fate and the necessity of vengeance in Norse culture.
