Svadilfari - The Master Builder's Stallion
The powerful stallion whose strength nearly cost the gods their bargain. Father of Sleipnir through Loki.
The Legendary Stallion
Svadilfari belonged to the giant who offered to build the walls of Asgard for the gods. The stallion was so powerful that he could haul enormous stones with ease, making it seem the giant would complete the impossible task and claim his payment - the sun, moon, and goddess Freyja.
To prevent this catastrophe, Loki transformed into a beautiful mare and lured Svadilfari away during the crucial final night of work. The giant failed to complete the wall, and from the union of Loki and Svadilfari came Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse - the fastest steed in all the Nine Realms.
