The Prophets (Anbiya)

Islam recognizes 25 prophets by name in the Quran, though many more were sent throughout history. All prophets brought the same core message: worship Allah alone (Tawhid). They are models of righteousness, patience, and submission to the Divine will.

Ibrahim (Abraham)

Title: Khalilullah (Friend of Allah)

Father of monotheism, builder of the Kaaba, willing to sacrifice his son for Allah. Patriarch of all three Abrahamic faiths.

Musa (Moses)

Title: Kalimullah (One Who Spoke to Allah)

Liberator of the Israelites, recipient of the Torah, performer of great miracles. Most frequently mentioned prophet in the Quran.

Isa (Jesus)

Title: Al-Masih (The Messiah)

Born miraculously to Virgin Maryam, performed miracles by Allah's permission, raised to heaven, will return before the Day of Judgment.

Muhammad

Title: Khatam an-Nabiyyin (Seal of Prophets)

The final prophet, recipient of the Quran, mercy to all worlds. His life is the practical example for all Muslims.

Nuh (Noah)

Title: First Messenger (Rasul)

Preached for 950 years, built the Ark, saved believers from the Great Flood. Example of patience and perseverance.

Adam

Title: Father of Humanity

First human and prophet, taught names of all things, repented after error and was forgiven by Allah.

Yusuf (Joseph)

Title: The Truthful (As-Siddiq)

Beautiful in character and appearance, interpreter of dreams, rose from slavery to vizier of Egypt through patience and integrity.

Sulayman (Solomon)

Title: Wise King

Granted kingship and wisdom, understood the language of animals and jinn, commanded the wind and employed jinn in his service.

Dawud (David)

Title: Khalifah (Vicegerent)

Slayer of Goliath, king and prophet, received the Psalms (Zabur), possessed beautiful voice in worship.

Yahya (John the Baptist)

Title: The Chaste

Son of Zakariya, born miraculously to elderly parents, testified to the truth of Isa, lived in purity and devotion.

The Companions (Sahaba)

The Companions of Prophet Muhammad were those who believed in him, saw him, and died as Muslims. They transmitted the teachings of Islam and spread the message worldwide.

Abu Bakr as-Siddiq

Title: As-Siddiq (The Truthful)

First adult male to accept Islam, closest companion of the Prophet, first Rightly Guided Caliph, father of Aisha.

Umar ibn al-Khattab

Title: Al-Faruq (The Criterion)

Second Rightly Guided Caliph, expanded Islamic empire, established the Islamic calendar, known for justice and strength.

Uthman ibn Affan

Title: Dhun-Nurayn (Possessor of Two Lights)

Third Rightly Guided Caliph, married two daughters of the Prophet, compiled the official Quranic text, generous and modest.

Ali ibn Abi Talib

Title: Asadullah (Lion of Allah)

Fourth Rightly Guided Caliph, cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet, first child to accept Islam, renowned for knowledge and courage.

Khadijah bint Khuwaylid

Title: Mother of the Believers

First wife of the Prophet, first person to accept Islam, supported Muhammad during difficult times, mother of Fatimah.

Aisha bint Abu Bakr

Title: Mother of the Believers

Wife of the Prophet, transmitted numerous hadith, scholar and teacher, known for intelligence and knowledge.

Salah ad-Din (Saladin)

Era: 12th century CE

Liberator of Jerusalem, founder of Ayyubid dynasty, known for chivalry, military genius, and justice even to enemies.

Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Era: 13th century CE

Sufi mystic and poet, founder of Mevlevi Order (Whirling Dervishes), author of the Masnavi, teacher of divine love.

Ibn Sina (Avicenna)

Era: 10th-11th century CE

Polymath physician and philosopher, author of Canon of Medicine, bridge between Islamic and Western scholarship.

Fatimah az-Zahra

Title: Lady of Paradise

Daughter of Prophet Muhammad, wife of Ali, mother of Hasan and Husayn, one of the four perfect women in Islam.
