The Tuatha Dé Danann
The "People of the Goddess Danu" - the divine race of gods and goddesses who ruled Ireland before the coming of the Milesians (mortal humans). They arrived in dark clouds, bringing with them the Four Treasures of Ireland, and possessed mastery over magic, druidry, and the arts. After their defeat by mortal humans, they retreated into the Otherworld, dwelling in the sidhe mounds and continuing to influence the mortal realm.
The Tuatha Dé Danann represent the divine powers of nature, sovereignty, magic, and the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. They are not distant gods but intimately connected to the land of Ireland itself.
